I'm thinking about getting this phone, it looks really cool. I have a G1 right now, but the Nexus has a 5mp camera, and a much faster processor. I've never had a smartphone with no physical keyboard though, I'm not sure if I'd get used to that.

Anyone else thinking of getting one? Also, there's some kind of techy extravaganza in Las Vegas in a couple days, where some new phones will be revealed, maybe I should wait to see what they come out with. Like there's one by Motorola, it's going to have a 4.3 inch touch screen (which is pretty huge!), BUT, it has Motoblur on it, which I thought was a complete mess, and I don't use twitter and Facebook or any of those all that much. So to me, it's just messy and annoying.

So what do you think, should I get the Nexus One?

So here I was thinking, Cool, I'm already with T-Mobile, all I gotta do is agree to a two year contract, and I can have the Nexus One for $180!

Not So! I get only a "partial discount". Even though I qualify for a full upgrade discount through T-Mobile. But T-mobile isn't selling the Nexus One, Google is, so my upgrade status with T-Mobile is irrelevant.

It's $179 for brand new T-Mobile customers. It's $279 for existing T-Mobile customers who do not currently have a data plan. And finally, it's $379 for existing T-Mobile customers who already have a data plan, and only want to upgrade their phone.

That last category is me. So imagine my surprise, confusion and disappointment, when I tried to buy a Nexus one. Expecting to see a $179 total, and instead seeing a $379 charge instead. Google really needs to be much more clear about their pricing schemes on their own website. I had to do a search online to find all this out.

So I haven't bought the Nexus One. I'm curious if I removed my data plan and tried to buy the phone again if it would give me the $279 price? And assuming that works, is the Nexus One worth $279 to me? I mean, I can buy a netbook for that price. Still debating...

Yesterday Google removed the $379 option, so now it's just $179 for a new T-Mobile customer, and $279 for an existing T-Mobile customer. It's better at least.
